Re: Julian Assange

  White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs suggested in somewhat Orwellian fashion that "such disclosures put at risk our diplomats, intelligence professionals, and people around the world who come to the United States for assistance in promoting democracy and open government."

Open government? If anything most of the materials contained in the Wikileaks prove that our government is anything but open, and often not even democratic.  If American diplomats think, for example, that Vladamir Putin is basically a gangster shouldn’t the American people be given this same appraisal?Secrecy doesn't strengthen democracy, it kills it.
