MAGA COP (Flash Fiction 700 words)

There were signs everywhere saying no eating in the library, but who’s going to lecture a cop about breaking the rules? A homeless man with a newspaper was about to sit down at the table across from O’Connor, but got a bullet stared into his face.

“Move on, pal,” O’Connor growled.

Normally, the patrolman wouldn’t slum it like this, brown-bagging it in a public place, but he was flat broke after losing big on the Eagles the night before. He was Catholic, but hadn’t been to church since his wedding. Lapsed as his beliefs were at this point in his downward spiral, he should’ve recognized that losing by a safety in the final ten seconds of overtime was a sign from above to change.

He thought this modest venue did have advantages.

A little whiskey in your coffee? Don’t mind if I do, O’Connor said to himself as he emptied what remained of his flask into his take-out cup. The wife moved out long ago, and he never got the hang of cooking. Today’s special was bologna on white bread. Not bad, but the mustard ran out before reaching his preferred level of saturation.

He finished the last of the popcorn he’d microwaved before his shift and was eyeballing the hot librarian when the drama began.

A teenager walked up to the desk with a book in one hand, and a cell phone in the other. He set the book down on the counter in front of the librarian.

“This may be a little late,” the kid said, already walking away.

“Excuse me, sir,” the librarian said. “There’s a fine.”

The kid either didn’t hear her, or chose to ignore the part about the ten-cents-a-day penalty for overdue books.

The librarian was about to tell him he could pay the forty cents on his next visit when the cop jumped into action. He sprang to his feet, pulled his service revolver, and pointed it at the kid’s back.

“Freeze, asshole!” O’Connor shouted in his very outside voice.

The kid wasn’t sure the warning was for him, but he stopped along with everyone else in the Moristown Public Library.

“Turn around slowly, with your hands over your head”

Now the kid realized that the cop he’d noticed eating his lunch when he came in was talking to him. As ordered, he started to turn around slowly, raising his hands, one of them clutching the phone.

The cop saw the object in the kid’s hand.

“Gun!” he screamed.

He emptied the six rounds from his revolver at point blank, only one of them managing to hit its intended target. The kid fell to the floor holding his forearm, barely scratched. O’Connor frantically worked to reload his weapon, making a mess of it, the spare ammo and the spent cartridges dropping to the floor, rolling in different directions.

The librarian finally recovered her wits and jumped from behind the counter.

“He’s thirteen years old. It was an overdue book, for heaven’s sake!”

The cop was floundering on the floor, trying to recover his ammo to finish what he started, then noticed the object in the kid’s hand was a mobile phone, not a lethal firearm. O’Connor had fifteen years in uniform and a lifetime watching bad TV shows about the police; experience guided him about what to do next.

He reached into his sock, pulled out his “drop gun,” and tossed it towards the kid on the floor.

The kid raised his head and saw the cop struggling to reload.

“Can I help you with that?” the kid asked in his library voice.

“I said freeze,” the cop said, this time the command came out with considerably less conviction, practically a whimper.

He managed to load two rounds into the revolver, closed the wheel, and fired both in the general direction of the kid still lying on his back. O’Connor was totally off-balance and fell backwards as he fired, shattering the glass on the framed portrait on the wall of the disgraced 47th president.

The librarian helped the cop to his feet as she took the revolver from his hand.

“Don’t worry about the portrait; we’ve been meaning to throw that thing out.”

ICE Shooting in Minneapolis, Part II

There doesn't appear to be any justification for the ICE cops to push the woman down (legally considered assault), then when Alex Pretti comes to her aid, the cops start attacking him. He is almost immediately pepper-sprayed and then wrestled down to the ground by what I count as seven ICE-holes. It's also impossible to discern what purpose these under-trained federal cops are even doing in the city besides tear-gassing peaceful protesters.

My question is how is a suspect suppose to calmly follow police instructions when he's just been pepper-sprayed in the face. I'd love to see a cop show me he can raise his hands up after this, or calmly lay on the ground, not that the cops had any reason to detain him.

Once again, the president immediately began a campaign of misinformation and lies, as did the DHS  secretary Kristi Noem:

In the aftermath of the killing, which was recorded by multiple witnesses, the Department of Homeland Security released an image of a handgun, which Donald Trump referred to as “the gunman’s gun” in a social media post. Kristi Noem, the DHS secretary, said at a briefing that Pretti had “approached US border patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun”, though she later declined to say whether or not Pretti pulled the gun out.

Once again, The New York Times has the definitive analysis of the murder of Alex Pretti. It also proves that the response by Mar a Lardo and DHS were simply outrageous and slanderous lies.

I was wondering how the 2nd Amendment crowd would view this murder. Seems like the NRA isn't going to suck up to Mar a Lardo on this lie.

ICE Shooting in Minneapolis

This post needs to be prefaced by stating the purpose of ICE in the Mar a Lardo administration: to antagonize Blue states who voted against him.

In the above video,You can clearly hear an ICE officer screaming at the woman, "Get the fuck out of the car." She seems to have done nothing except parked illegally, maybe. Traffic was not blocked as cars pass in front of her as she can be seen waving them past.

There is no context to this video and no reason has been offered as to why the ICE officers wanted so desperately for her to "get the fuck out of the car." Masked goons screaming obscenities seems like a very threatening situation to me for a young woman. It seems a major purpose of ICE is to appear threatening.

I haven't read anything that explains what this woman did to qualify as a "domestic terrorist" other than having the folly to think she could protest peacefully in the United States of America.

A slow-motion close-up of what happened just before and after the shooting by ICE officer Jonathan Ross. It's pretty clear to anyone with the gift of sight to see that no officer was "run down" as the president stated after the killing.

Above is Mar a Lardo's statement posted on Truth Social directly after the killing. He jumps immediately into bullshit mode without any regard for the truth, not that he would recognize that idea as it's a total stranger to him.

The New York Times posted these video to examine the killing using all available video evidence. Their analysis is the best on this story I have seen. Make your own conclusions.

Or, you can just lie your ass off like Kristi Noem:

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem doubles-down on Mar a Lardo's filthy lie about the killing, calling the victim a "domestic terrorist" which is the same as a peaceful protester, we can only assume. The officer who shot the woman repeatedly in the face over what looked like a parking violation was shown walking to his vehicle and driving away from the scene of the murder, so another lie was committed in saying he was treated at the hospital.

More evidence of the dichotomy between Democrats and the party of Mar a Lardo after viewing the same video.

After a year of dealing with one disgraceful act after another committed by Mar a Lardo and his yes-men (and women) storm troopers, this has been the most horrific so far. First of all, it's just such a blatant lie, and then to have the entire fascist regime backing up the lie is truly disturbing and makes me doubt the integrity or out institutions built over the course of our nation. It's like we all have a front-row seat while an institutional lie is being created. This time it wasn't hatched behind closed doors and in secret, but unashamedly in full view of the public.

Mar  Lardo did say, "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, okay? It's, like, incredible" And this is exactly what he's done. He's telling his goons they can kill people and he'll back them up 100%.
